Database Administrator
The Database Administrator maintains the integrity of data including the logical, physical design and implementation of databases. In this role, you'll be responsible for database management including the performance and recoverability of databases, application administration, patching and upgrades. This position will work closely with our application, operation and security teams to build out future application roadmaps.
The employee’s primary duty must be the performance of office or non-manual work directly related to the management or general business operations of Helena or Helena’s customers. This also includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance.
What your day may look like:
• Develops and maintains both application and database tuning and connectivity standards, policies and procedures and ensures compliance with industry best practices and security regulations.
• Follows, defines and manages enterprise level policies and procedures that ensure the security, optimization and integrity of Oracle database environments.
• Manages database backup and recovery procedures, disaster recovery preparation and associated exercises.
• Migrates code, database changes and data through the various stages of development.
• Manages database patching and upgrade support.
• Diagnoses, anticipates and resolves database performance, capacity and replication issues.
• Participates in client/project meeting(s) for needs assessment and design review.
• Collaborates with SAN, server, application and operations teams in support of database objectives.
• Manages concurrent programs, request sets, request groups, workflows and troubleshoots workflow mailer/notification issues and takes care of user access.
• Uses monitoring tools to proactively monitor systems and responds to various system generated alerts.
• Administers and maintains single Sign-on for Oracle applications.
• Utilizes applications DBA utilities to support/maintain the multi-node environment to tune and improve database performance.
• Administers and maintains the Oracle Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Oracle WebLogic Server to support Oracle EBS system connectivity with integrated systems.
• Analyzes patches and builds execution steps.
• Performs Oracle EBS Applications database administration (DBA) tasks including patching (adop cycle and opatch), cloning, creating backup/recovery strategies, upgrading and performance tuning.
• Sets up DR environment and supports periodic DR drills.
• Performs code and patch migration to non-production and production environment using the deployed tool or manually by adhering to the set change control policies and procedures.
• Establishes, contributes and adheres to all key departmental operating procedures around governance, project management, software lifecycle management, change management and provides oversight on key delivery of application topology solutions and enhancements as needed.
• Works closely with Oracle support and partners.
• Performs other Oracle EBS DBA related activities.
• Other work-related duties as assigned by leader.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Education and experience needed for this position:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT or related field is required.
• Five years of hands-on experience as an Oracle EBS Applications DBA combined with Oracle Applications System Administrator, Oracle WebLogic Administrator and related technologies to maintain, upgrade and support a multi-node Oracle EBS database 12c/19c and Oracle ERP Application R12.2 is required.
• Hands-on experience with scripting on Unix and Linux environments using Shell, Perl, SQL, PL/SQL is required.
• Knowledge in AIX v7.1/v7.2, Linux, IBM P series hardware, Storage Area Network, Rubrik maintenance is required.
• Experience in application monitoring using Grid Control and other tools is required.
• Experience in cloud migration is preferred.
Other skills that will help you succeed:
• Strong analytical skills.
• Familiarity with Oracle EBS technical tools like Oracle Application Framework, BI/XML Reports, Java, JVM, JSP, Oracle Forms/Reports, Interfaces, Workflow etc.
• Technical and functional knowledge of the Oracle E-Business Suite.
• Web services (REST or SOAP) development.
• Architecture (Cloud, Web Services, SOA).
• Self-starter and able to deliver results on a proactive and independent basis.
• Ability to work independently with limited general supervision.

The work environment for this position is that of a typical office environment where the noise level is mostly quiet. This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand and sit. You may be occasionally required to lift or move up to 10 pounds.
