Job Description

We are seeking Manufacturing Technicians to join our team in St. Louis, MO.  This is for a large Chemical/Life Science Manufacturing facility in St. Louis. The ideal candidate will be able to operate powered industrial equipment, Reactor systems, Industrial centrifuges and dryers, Ion exchange columns, and DCS systems.

Shift: 6PM - 6AM rotating, 3/2/2/3 (10% shift differential)

Requirement: Clean-shaven appearance is essential for this role.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or technical degree preferred.
  • Ideally, candidates should possess 1-3 years of experience in a similar work environment.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Proficiency in operating powered industrial equipment, Reactor systems, Industrial centrifuges and dryers, Ion exchange columns, and DCS systems. Experience with SAP, Word, Excel, and Access is advantageous.
  • Understanding of product flow throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Capacity to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and team-building abilities.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Engage in problem-solving and performance management within the designated business area.
  • Assist the Supervisor in maintaining workflow within the department.
  • Provide necessary training for new personnel.
  • Foster a high-quality work environment by sharing knowledge and experiences to inspire team members.
  • Keep the supervisor informed of any potential or existing concerns.
  • Lead by example in meeting or exceeding performance expectations, adhering to health and safety guidelines, ensuring job accuracy, and complying with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Actively participate in process improvement projects to enhance system efficiency, customer service, and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot departmental issues, including root cause analysis and developing preventive solutions.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of department operating systems.
  • Maintained cleanliness and organization of work areas and stock locations.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to management.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain exemplary attendance and adhere to the schedule.
Additional Local Needs:
  • Shift work may include 12-hour shifts, night schedules with competitive differentials, and/or rotating shifts during various days of the week.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 55 pounds while wearing personal protective equipment, including respirators, for an extended period.
  • Potential for customer interaction, heightening the responsibilities of this position.
Environmental Conditions:
  • May occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and is regularly required to wear appropriate protective gear. The work area may be wet, humid, abnormally hot, or cold.
Physical Requirements:
  • Office Duties: Requires sitting, standing, hearing, and manual operation of office equipment. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Warehouse/Distribution Duties: Involves sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, twisting, or crouching for extended periods. 
  • Regularly lift 55 pounds and/or move 300+ pounds with or without assistance.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • Regular use of manufacturing equipment, powered industrial equipment, phones, computers, and all office/laboratory equipment.
