Lab Technician
Job Description
- Creating production batches and determining routes based on specifications
- Synthesizing oligonucleotides using various synthesizer platforms
- Cleaving and deprotecting in various conditions
- Purifying materials using various methods and equipment
- Setting up work by preparing reagents and stocking raw materials
- Labeling and capping product containers, performing custom formatting or kitting if necessary
- Quantifying and normalizing concentrations
- Handling liquids manually and using automated platforms for sampling, transfer, dilution, and aliquoting
- Using LIMS for each manufacturing step
- High School Diploma or GED with 3-5 years of lab experience
- Familiarity with lab equipment and instruments gained from prior positions or education
- Basic PC skills (Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, web-based applications)
- Attention to detail, multitasking ability, basic math, and reading/writing skills
- Completion of 1–2-year college courses toward a scientific degree, preferably with a science background
- Preferred: 2-year degree with 6 months of lab experience
- Flexibility for reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, handling, pulling, pushing, and lifting
- Auditory perception within the typical range
- Vision with near and far acuity, depth perception, and color distinction
- Ability to lift to 30 lbs.
- Workspace contains flammable solvents, carcinogens, and corrosives
- Wearing appropriate PPE and reporting safety hazards
- Proper disposal of waste and hazardous materials
- Adhering to safety guidelines and SOPs
- Ensuring product quality and adherence to specifications
- Performing routine equipment checks and cleaning/sanitizing
- Completing quality assurance records
- Clear communication with leadership and peers
- Providing updates for smooth shift transitions
- Collaborating with Logistics, Quality, and Maintenance to meet production needs
