Maintenance Millwright/Mechanic
Job Description
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on rotating equipment such as agitators, pumps, valves, mechanical seals, gearboxes, separators/centrifuges, filters/dust collectors, cooling towers, chillers, air compressors, belt-driven equipment, and rotary valves.
- Precision Machining and Milling: Perform high-precision machining and milling tasks as needed to ensure the accurate and reliable operation of equipment.
- Laser Alignment and Precision Tools: Utilize laser alignment tools and apply precise measuring techniques using calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, bore gauges, and dial indicators to ensure optimal equipment alignment and function.
- Welding and Torch Skills: Conduct basic welding and torch operations as required to support repair and fabrication efforts.
- Bolt and Torque Expertise: Identify bolts and understand torque specifications, using torque wrenches to ensure proper assembly and operation of equipment.
- Root Cause Analysis: Perform detailed root cause analysis on failed equipment, seeking solutions for long-term reliability and improvement.
- Technical Documentation: Utilize personal computers and associated software to access maintenance documentation, log work orders, and track repair histories.
- Team Collaboration: Maintain effective working relationships with other employees and collaborate with various departments to ensure efficient operation and minimal downtime.
- Self-Management: Work efficiently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accountability and productivity.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial environment or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
- Demonstrated high-level skills in the Millwright/Mechanic craft, validated through nationally recognized certifications or training programs such as NCCER, Ramsey, or equivalent.
- Preferred experience with rotating equipment, including agitators, pumps, valves, mechanical seals, and more.
- Proficient in precision machining, laser alignment, and the use of various precision measuring tools.
- Basic welding and torch skills.
- Industrial environment with exposure to rotating machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Some physical work involves lifting, standing, and maneuvering in tight spaces.
