Marine Electrician
Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Marine Electrician for a long-term role in Pensacola, FL. The Electrical Designer must possess working knowledge of marine systems and the shipbuilding industry.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, core hours (may work OT when needed)
Rate: $25-35/hr BOE
Duties & Responsibilities
- Repair or replace electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faulty systems, apparatus, or parts using testing devices (e.g., ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes).
- Install, maintain, and repair marine electrical (AC/DC) and electronic systems on vessels and conversions.
- Interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure proper system installation and compliance with safety codes.
- Inspect and test electrical systems for hazards, defects, and code compliance.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, or rigging to access equipment and wiring.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting to 40 lbs. and working in confined spaces as needed.
Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Marine Electrician.
- Proficiency with diagnosing and repairing electrical systems and components.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or schematics.
- Experience with installing, maintaining, and repairing marine electrical (AC/DC) and electronic systems.
- General knowledge and experience in stick welding.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, pushing/pulling, and reaching.
- Regular use of hand tools and fine motor skills.
- Ability to work in confined or elevated spaces and occasionally lift/carry 30–40 lbs.
