Warehouse Operator
Job Description
- Receives and puts away all incoming materials, supplies, equipment, and returned goods.
- Unloads trailers using power equipment, verifies freight and signs the bill of lading.
- Sorts, inspects and receives items in the appropriate system (e.g., SAP).
- Applies labels and cans to inbound materials.
- Schedules dock appointments with carriers and communicates any discrepancies or product issues to Procurement.
- Packs hazardous and non-hazardous items for shipment to customers.
- Packs pre-pack and bulk materials according to established procedures while complying with hazard regulations.
- Communicates with Customer Interface Departments on shipping issues and expedites priorities.
- Works with external vendors to schedule dock appointments for bulk receiving.
- Resolves discrepancies with internal customers and verifies order documentation against product information.
- Prepares hazardous shipping documentation and maintains records of orders.
- Removes and ships defective material to vendors.
- Uses scanners or computer systems to put products away and selects material using narrow aisle, wire-guided machines.
- Operates both powered and manual material handling equipment safely.
- Fulfills internal supply orders accurately and stages products with the use of power equipment.
- Delivers products to on-site customers and stores them in designated areas.
- Maintains inventory accuracy and performs necessary adjustments and moves in the appropriate system.
- Assists with training new employees and audits counts to verify actual location with the system.
- Works with team leads and supervisors to troubleshoot systems issues and operates SAP and WMS systems.
- Reports unsafe hazards to team leads or management and completes miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates exemplary attendance and adherence to the schedule.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver License.
- Consent to pre-employment physical AND DOT medical monitoring required.
- 2-4 years of previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
- Proficient in operating power equipment and material handling tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with SAP and WMS systems is a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items and perform physical tasks as required.
- Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
