Job Description

Sirius Staffing is seeking an Electrical Designer B for a marine client in Pascagoula, MS. This full-time position is contract-to-direct after 90 days. The Electrical Designer B will utilize drafting techniques and prepare routine to complex layouts, charts, graphs, maps, engineered designs, drawings, and/or diagrams from technical specifications and instructions.

Pay: $39.52/hr + benefits 

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6-3, 7-4, or 8-5

 Responsibilities and Duties: 
  • Design details of work
  • Coordinates with other sections when appropriate
  • Checks drawings when appropriate (which may require entering all areas of production)
  • Ensures CAD standards are followed
  • Designs to company standards and common material where possible
  • Ensures work meets requirements of applicable Regulatory Body and job specifications
  • Follows company standards, practices, and procedures (i.e., PRNs, ECPs, EARs, Budget Requests, drawing check out, etc.)
  • Coordinates and reviews required vendor information
  • Coordinates with other personnel as appropriate
  • Incorporates and documents owner, regulatory body, and other governing bodies’ comments
 
What we are looking for (experience and knowledge): 
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of two years of college coursework (equivalent to an AA degree) in Industrial Technology or a related field or a combination of education and extensive design experience that provides the required knowledge and skills.
  • 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Designer.
  • Strong understanding of design principles and drafting techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and practices.
  • Proficiency in using drafting materials and equipment.
