Job Description

Sirius Staffing immediately needs Warehouse Operators for contract-to-hire positions in St. Louis, MO. The Warehouse Operators will work for a large Chemical Manufacturing facility on the day shift, 7a-330p. 
 
This position is a long-term, contract-to-hire opportunity, where the first 12 months will be spent as a contractor.
 
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of verifiable experience in warehouse operations 
  • Must have experience operating a Forklift (will use various material handling equipment, including narrow aisle and wire-guided powered industrial trucks)
  • Must have previous experience with Packaging, Shipping & Receiving
  • Computer Skills 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Capacity for basic lifting (up to 40 lbs.), bending and reaching overhead.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Receive, store, and organize all incoming materials, supplies, equipment, and returned goods.
  • Utilize power equipment to unload trailers, verify freight, and sign bill of lading.
  • Sort, inspect, and log incoming items into the appropriate system (e.g., SAP).
  • Apply labels to incoming materials and store them accordingly.
  • Coordinate dock appointments with carriers.
  • Communicate with Procurement regarding any discrepancies or product issues.
  • Pack hazardous and nonhazardous items for shipment, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Pack pre-pack and bulk materials according to established procedures and safety regulations.
  • Liaise with Customer Interface Departments to address shipping issues and prioritize orders.
  • Collaborate with external vendors to schedule dock appointments.
  • Resolve discrepancies with internal customers promptly and effectively.
  • Verify details of chemicals, catalog numbers, lot numbers, and special requests against order documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain detailed records of inventory and transactions.
  • Identify and remove defective material, arranging shipment to vendors.
  • Use scanning or computer systems to store products accurately.
  • Fulfill internal supply orders accurately and stage products using power equipment.
  • Deliver products to onsite customers and store them appropriately.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through regular audits and adjustments.
  • Verify the actual location of items in the system and troubleshoot any issues with team leads and supervisors.
  • Operate SAP and WMS systems proficiently, retrieving pull slips for pull ticket runs.
  • Report any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions promptly to team leads or management.
