Job Description

Sirius Staffing is seeking an Accounting and Project Controls Technician for a Contract position through the end of 2024  in Theodore, AL.
 
The Support Staff for Accounting and Project Controls will be responsible for supporting the Controlling and Cost Engineering team in the development and implementation of project control processes and procedures, as well as performing a variety of accounting and clerical tasks related to the maintenance and processing of accounting transactions. The ideal candidate should have experience in reporting, data management, and general accounting. This position reports to the Head of Controlling and Cost Engineering.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Process new project requests to ensure master data is maintained properly in the billing system
  • Assist in the preparation of invoices and the invoicing process
  • Monitor accounts receivable invoices and ensure timely payment from customers
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Track project costs and report on variances
  • Assist in the preparation of project reports and presentations
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal staff regarding accounting and project control transactions
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Controls Manager and Accounting Manager
 
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years of experience in accounting, project controls, or a related field
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Project Expediting or Project Document Control is a plus
