Administrative Assistant
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Rabies Program Administrative Assistant for the county. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to our rabies program, assisting in various tasks including interviewing dog owners and individuals who have been bitten by dogs, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and facilitating communication with the state laboratory.
Responsibilities:
- Interview Support: Assist in conducting interviews with dog owners and persons bitten by dogs to gather necessary information for the rabies program
- HIPAA Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations in handling and safeguarding confidential medical information obtained during interviews and investigations
- Computer Skills: Utilize computer skills for data entry, document management, and correspondence related to rabies program activities
- Data Scanning: Operate date scanning equipment to efficiently track and manage rabies vaccination records and other relevant data
- State Lab Interaction: Facilitate communication and coordination with the state laboratory for rabies testing and result interpretation, under the guidance of program coordinators
- Annual Investigation Reporting: Assist in the preparation and compilation of annual investigation reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in office administration or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including data entry, document management, and email correspondence.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience handling confidential medical information preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and reporting.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders, including dog owners, healthcare professionals, and laboratory personnel.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
