Aerospace Quality Inspector

Rate:
33-35hr.
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring compliance with all Quality Control inspections and procedures. Reporting to the Chief Inspector/Head of Quality, this role plays a critical part in maintaining safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence within the Repair Station.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aircraft Inspection & Quality Control
- Review incoming aircraft maintenance flight logs to determine required work.
- Conduct primary inspections on aircraft to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Verify proper documentation, procure necessary forms and work orders, and transfer work requirements accordingly.
- Oversee all work in progress, ensuring adherence to quality and regulatory standards.
- Accept or reject completed work based on compliance with work orders and FAA regulations.
- Perform internal and external audits as needed.
- Conduct receiving inspections to verify material and component compliance.
- Regulatory Compliance & Safety Assurance
- Ensure inspection procedures align with FAA-approved engineering instructions and maintenance manuals.
- Perform detailed inspections for proper installation, security, safety, and workmanship.
- Conduct pressure tests and verify materials, fasteners, and component conformity.
- Validate all entries in aircraft maintenance flight logs, including airworthiness releases.
- Assist in developing and refining processes, procedures, and workflow scheduling.
- Cross-Department Coordination & Support
- Collaborate with various departments to optimize resource allocation and scheduling.
- Provide support for Component Shop and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) tooling design.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
- Active A&P FAA license.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Quality Control and Inspection processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to read and interpret precision measurement equipment and technical manuals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred:
- Experience with turbo-prop aircraft.
- Prior experience in data entry or word processing.
- Previous exposure to aircraft component shop operations.
- Bachelor's degree (not required but considered a plus).
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
- Must maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-noise environment.
- Must be able to walk, stand, reach overhead, squat, bend, and climb ladders.
- Ability to lift and maneuver objects as needed.
- Clear vision (20/20 with or without correction) and good hearing are required.
- Occasional domestic travel may be required (up to 10%).
