Job Description

Sirius Staffing is currently seeking a Buyer for a Direct Hire role in Highland Park, IL. This is a full-time, on-site role (Monday–Friday). The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and procuring a wide range of goods—from displays and barware to apparel and promotional items. This position plays a critical role in ensuring inventory levels are optimized while securing the best value and maintaining product quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage purchasing activity aligned with a bi-annual forecast and distribution calendar.
  • Track, analyze, and report on inventory levels, inbound orders, pricing, and fulfillment status.
  • Make strategic recommendations on reorders, product withdrawals, or new product additions based on inventory movement and sales trends.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with both domestic and international suppliers, including regular interaction with manufacturers in Asia.
  • Evaluate and challenge pricing to ensure the best value without compromising quality or consistency.
  • Ensure item catalog alignment and accuracy across ERP systems, documentation, and warehouses.

Qualifications:
  • 3–5 years of experience in a buyer, planner, or procurement-focused role.
  • Proven success in vendor negotiations and supplier management, including overseas partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of inventory and purchase order management; ERP experience required (NetSuite is a plus).
  • Excellent Excel skills (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
