Job Description
We are seeking to fill an opportunity for a Checker to join a Drafting and Design team in Pensacola, FL. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity working in the Structural and Mechanical industry specializing in control systems.

Responsibilities:
- · Check drawings for heavy industrial structures, mechanical componentry, stiffened plate work, support steel, and access.
- · Review field erection and shop fabrication detail drawings for accuracy versus design drawings.
- · Ability to understand concepts provided by engineering.
- · Analyze specifications, design data, sketches, and related engineering drawings.
- · Verify critical factors and dimensional accuracy.
- · Confer with engineering and design staff to assist in resolving design issues.
Requirements:
- · High School Diploma or Equivalent
- · Experience in structural and mechanical design.
- · Must be able to confer with engineering and design staff to assist in resolving design issues.
- · Proficient at applying reasoning to produce practical solutions.
- · Ability to write technical correspondence.
- · AutoCAD proficiency in 2D is required.
- · Typical industries served are power plants, paper mills, chemical plants, and refineries.
- · Some travel required no more than (2-6) annual trips, each about (2-3) nights away.
- · Ability to obtain field measurements and climb ladders, stairs, and elevated platforms.
