Job Description

Chemical Packaging Operator
Shift: 2nd Shift (Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM)
Training: 1st Shift (Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM for 2–3 months)
Pay: $21.00/hr + 7% Shift Differential
Location: St. Louis, MO 63118
Employment Type: Contract- end date Oct. 2026

Position Overview
The Chemical Packaging Operator plays a critical role in manufacturing products in accordance with established protocols, supporting both departmental and company-wide goals. This is not a warehouse position. The ideal candidate has a stable work history, strong mechanical aptitude, and experience working in a regulated production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate processing and production equipment, including:
    • COP (Clean Out of Place)
    • CIP (Clean In Place)
    • Kaps All Torquer
    • Label line and CIP Bag Fill Line
  • Perform a range of production operations, including:
    • Routine and monthly phenolic cleaning of rooms
    • Waste disposal and manual cleaning of small parts
    • Pulling bottles from inventory and passing through to Class 100 clean room
    • Hand torqueing and torque testing
    • Application of pinch clamps
    • Packaging of bags and bottles
  • Accurately document the status of processes, products, and equipment; promptly escalate deviations to a supervisor.
  • Execute batch records in SAP (eBR) and complete all required log books in accordance with procedures.
  • Follow production procedures and safety policies at all times.
  • Properly label in-process equipment and containers.
  • Participate in required safety and quality training.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards in manufacturing and work areas.
Basic Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience:
    • SAP experience required
    • Punctual and dependable work history (no job hopping)
    • Troubleshooting on an assembly line
    • Setting up packaging lines and ensuring functionality
    • Testing lab equipment
    • Cleaning materials and parts
    • Pallet jack operation
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
    • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
    • Computer literacy (SAP proficiency)
    • Organizational and interpersonal skills
Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam.
  • Steel-toed shoes and being clean-shaven are required.
  • Must be able to lift and push up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to perform tasks while wearing personal protective equipment, including respirators, for extended periods.
  • May require occasional shift work, including 8/10/12-hour shifts on various days of the week.
Work Environment & Safety
  • Production environment with exposure to chemicals/substances requiring PPE.
  • Respirator use required (as defined by EHS).
  • No exposure to bloodborne pathogens, lasers, forklifts, or animal handling.
