Civil/Structural Drafter
Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Civil/Structural Drafter for a position in Mobile, AL. This is a contract-to-direct hire opportunity, working on-site.
Rate: Based on experience/skills:
1 year - $15-18/hr
2 year - $16-$20/hr Based on drafting or modeling skills
3-5 years - $18-$25/hr Based on drafting or modeling skills
PTO/Holiday Pay/Benefits Offered
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 4/10s (flexible start time)
Summary:
The ideal candidate must be willing to work outside of their comfort zone; this is for a full-service firm providing civil/structural and MEP engineering to clients. As a civil/structural drafter, you must be willing to work across disciplined lines.
Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate degree or higher in Drafting and Design Technology is preferred.
- 1-5 years of experience as a Civil/Structural Drafter with expertise in structural steel and reinforced concrete.
- Experience in AutoCAD, REVIT, and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to perform field duties such as site visits, ladder climbing, and navigating uneven terrain.
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed structural drawings, blueprints, and models using CAD software.
- Interpret architectural designs and sketches into technical drawings.
- Ensure drawings meet building codes, engineering standards, and project requirements.
- Work closely with engineers, architects, and construction teams to clarify designs.
- Update drawings based on feedback or design changes.
- Organize and maintain accurate records of project drawings and documents.
- Occasionally visit job sites to take measurements and gather data.
- Communicate with project teams to provide updates and ensure timelines are met.
