Construction Coordinator – Industrial Manufacturing Site | Theodore, AL
Location: 100% On-site in Theodore, Alabama
Pay Band: $76–$96/hr BOE
Type: Contract

This position does not offer per diem, travel, or relocation 

Sirius Staffing is seeking an experienced Construction Coordinator to support a major, production-scale manufacturing site project in Theodore, AL. This position will oversee field activities related to an API-650 inner bell replacement project, ensuring compliance, quality, and safety across all phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities
Site Inspection
  • Perform daily and periodic inspections of construction progress for compliance with design specifications, owner requirements, and industry standards.
  • Oversee contractor activities related to welding, coating, dimensional checks, rigging preparation, and overall field execution.
Quality Assurance
  • Verify materials, workmanship, and weld quality meet project standards, API/ISO criteria, and inspection/test plan (ITP) hold/witness points.
  • Identify and document non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are tracked and completed.
Documentation
  • Maintain accurate field inspection records, including photographs, daily logs, ITP verifications, weld/NDE reports, coating test results, and lift readiness documentation.
  • Review contractor reports and prepare concise Owner-level construction summaries.
Issue Resolution
  • Partner with contractor supervision and project stakeholders to resolve field issues related to welding, coatings, tolerances, rigging, and function testing.
  • Ensure timely execution and closure of corrective measures.
Communication
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractor teams to relay updates on inspection findings, schedule risks, and lift/test readiness.
  • Support RFI and change management processes from the Owner’s representation perspective.
Safety Compliance
  • Enforce site safety standards, including confined-space, hot-work, atmospheric testing, and weather-related work stops.
  • Monitor safety practices and recommend improvements where necessary.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 8+ years of industrial construction management or inspection experience (tank, pressure vessel, structural steel, piping, or API-650 projects).
  • Strong field QA/QC background in weld inspections, NDE witnessing, and coating verification.
  • Working knowledge of API-650, ISO weld standards, and OSHA construction safety.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and field decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 for documentation and reporting.
Preferred Credentials
  • API-650 or floating bell experience
  • ASNT Level II (UT/RT/MT/PT)
  • AMPP/NACE Level II or III
  • CWI or API-653 certification
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Rigging/Signalperson credentials
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
