Construction Manager
Job Description
- Supervise approximately 10 workers and interface with specific crafts and subcontractors.
- Monitor and manage HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental), quality, budget, and schedule performance; mitigate deviations as needed.
- Create purchase requests, manage material deliveries, and validate contractor progress reports and invoices.
- Audit construction work quality in collaboration with the Quality Manager and validate compliance with project standards.
- Lead compliance with Life-Saving Rules (LSRs), fostering a safe, respectful work environment.
- Interface with site operations to ensure alignment between construction and operational activities.
- Rigorously adhere to permitting requirements and facilitate field audits for Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).
- Supervise all craft disciplines, regardless of the manager’s primary background (mechanical or E/I).
- Participate in safety meetings, daily tailgate sessions, and permit audits, addressing and improving compliance.
- Notify project and safety managers of any incidents immediately.
- Maintain construction schedules as needed.
- Track costs, invoices, and purchase orders using SAP.
- Validate contractor invoices and ensure alignment with contract terms.
- Enter project requisitions in Ariba and support contracting, claims, and change management processes.
- Participate in risk mitigation, vendor awards, and project governance activities.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least 3 or more years in construction management, with expertise in pump/pipe vessels and project management. I&E (Instrumentation and Electrical) experience is a plus.
- Versatile experience spanning various engineering fields (civil, structural, electrical, and Mechanical)
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, SAP, and Ariba.
