Job Title: Construction Project Manager
Location: 100% On-Site, San Jose, CA
Pay Rate: $80/hour

Project Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager to lead safety and construction oversight on two capital projects in San Jose, CA:
- Twin Peaks Project: Smaller in scale; construction begins in May and is expected to complete in September.
- Denali Project: Larger in scale; construction begins in September with an expected completion in mid-2026.
Projects involve retrofit and expansion of existing facilities, including office build-outs, clean room installations, and chemical production equipment integration. Budgets range from $2M to $30M with average timelines of 12 months. On-site presence is required due to the high level of daily coordination with contractors, safety, and quality teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day site construction activities, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Enforce strict compliance with corporate safety protocols and industry standards to maintain zero-incident project sites.
- Monitor and manage construction scope, timelines, and contractor performance against approved plans and specifications.
- Oversee contractor bidding, selection, negotiations, and contract management through project closeout.
- Evaluate and negotiate contractor change orders with supporting documentation for stakeholder review.
- Track project budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation plans, providing weekly and monthly reports to leadership.
- Coordinate with stakeholders on project updates, including safety and quality meetings.
- Ensure seamless collaboration across cross-functional teams including engineering, safety, and quality.
- Manage permitting processes, building inspections, and compliance with local jurisdictions.
- Conduct quality assurance inspections during and post-construction.
- Support onboarding of contractors and crew members, ensuring compliance with site protocols.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, encouraging ongoing development.
- Participate in and lead accident investigations when necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of construction technology, safety, and quality control best practices
- Experience with clean room and chemical process facility construction
- Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and project controls
- Effective in conflict resolution, critical thinking, and risk mitigation
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of construction management experience in commercial buildings, clean rooms, and chemical processing systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- OSHA 30 certification (required)
- First Aid & CPR certified
- Familiarity with ASME, ACI, and local/state building codes
- Experience conducting and reporting on accident investigations
