Job Description

Sirius Staffing is seeking an Electrical Designer III for a contract position in Pascagoula, MS. The Electrical Designer must possess working knowledge of marine systems and the shipbuilding industry.

Pay - $41.50/hr

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, flexible hours from 6a-3p, 7a-4p, or 8a-5p.

Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of CAD operating experience preferred (AutoCAD and ShipConstructor experience preferred).
  • Working knowledge of USCG, ABS, SOLAS, and government shipbuilding standards.
  • Familiarity with marine systems and the shipbuilding industry.
  • Supervisory skills, including coordinating and scheduling team activities.
  • Team-oriented and able to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Utilizes artistic talent, research, experience, and knowledge of regulatory requirements to design and develop innovative and cost-effective vessel solutions.
  • Creates innovative and cost-effective solutions in the development of vessel designs.
  • Creates functional and production drawings based on direction from engineers, work orders, and applicable specifications.
  • Review specifications and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Develops detailed production drawings aligned with functional designs and project specifications.
  • Ensures design integration with the overall vessel structure.
  • Confirms that engineering deliverables meet design criteria and customer specifications.
  • Collaborates with vendors on project-related activities.
  • Coordinates closely with other engineering disciplines and the production team.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety, environmental, and quality system standards
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Available for overtime as needed.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
