Position Overview:
The Electrical Designer is a key contributor to the engineering and design team, responsible for creating layouts, engineered designs, technical drawings, and electrical system diagrams using advanced drafting techniques. Working closely with cross-functional teams, this role ensures that all designs meet project specifications, regulatory standards, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
The following duties reflect the general scope of the role and are not intended to be all-inclusive
- Develop detailed designs and layouts for electrical systems and components.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and other departments to ensure design accuracy and alignment.
- Review, update, and verify technical drawings, including conducting field checks in production areas.
- Ensure consistency and precision by following CAD standards and company drafting protocols.
- Incorporate standard materials and design practices per Bollinger guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, classification, and job-specific standards.
- Follow internal control processes, including PRNs, ECPs, EARs, budget requests, and drawing checkouts.
- Review and incorporate vendor specifications and data into designs.
- Integrate feedback from customers, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders into design work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in electrical design principles and drafting techniques.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and systems integration.
- Familiar with relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficient in CAD software and drafting tools.
- Experience with ShipConstructor and Navis is strongly preferred.
Education & Experience:
- Completion of two years of college coursework equivalent to an Associate’s degree in Industrial Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant electrical design experience.
- Equivalent combinations of education and hands-on experience will be considered.
