Planner Estimator II
The Planner Estimator II works with limited supervisory oversight and exercises a high degree of independent judgment in performing planning and scheduling functions. This role includes advanced responsibilities such as developing project contract documents, schedules, and validating work orders in support of maintenance, outage, and project execution.
 
Pay: $66/hr.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Within the limits of authorized company objectives, policies, procedures, plans, and budgets, the Planner Estimator II is responsible for:
  • Scope, plan, and estimate contracted work in accordance with the “Planning Contracted Work” procedure (ES-CM-100).
  • Ensure work packages are complete and compliant, including HEC procedures, confined space and burn permits, job aides, maintenance procedures, PM attachments, safe work practices, and environmental policies and permit limitations.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor Primavera P6 schedules for maintenance, outages, and projects.
  • Maintain contractor schedules (daily, weekly, outage schedules) and communicate schedule changes to all stakeholders, particularly Contract Supervisors.
  • Ensure alignment and common understanding of project scope, schedules, and execution plans among all stakeholders.
  • Monitor overtime usage and proactively identify productivity improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure work orders are properly closed, routed, or filed upon job completion, including completion of follow-up actions such as parts repair or replacement and procedure updates.
  • Provide leadership in implementing company and departmental goals.
  • Provide guidance and support to Planning Associate personnel related to planning and scheduling contractor work.
  • Review and approve contractor invoices for planned work within authorized limits and route for additional approvals as required.
  • Perform other duties or special assignments as directed by the E&PM Manager, Construction.
Qualifications
Required
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years as a Planner Estimator I
    OR
  • Minimum of six (6) years of progressively complex experience in planning, scheduling, and tracking maintenance work and equipment in a heavy industrial facility
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficient knowledge of work management systems used to plan, schedule, and track maintenance work and equipment in a heavy industrial environment
  • Clear understanding of maintenance and outage management best practices and procedures
  • Ability to develop and maintain KPI metrics and Plans of Work (POW) schedules
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong spreadsheet and reporting skills, including the ability to develop and maintain pivot tables, macros, and dashboards
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to gather, analyze, and communicate information from multiple sources
Preferred
Education
  • College degree in Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or a related field from an accredited institution
Experience
  • Experience planning and assembling detailed work packages
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling theory and application
