Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Draftsman to support the design and manufacturing process of mechanical components and systems. In this role, you will use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create precise 2D and 3D technical drawings, ensuring accurate dimensions, materials, and assembly instructions. You will work closely with mechanical engineers and cross-functional teams to translate concepts into production-ready blueprints.

In this role, you will use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create precise 2D and 3D technical drawings, ensuring accurate dimensions, materials, and assembly instructions. You will work closely with mechanical engineers and cross-functional teams to translate concepts into production-ready blueprints.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Drafting
- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
- Produce technical drawings with precise dimensions, tolerances, and industry-standard annotations.
- Generate isometric, sectional, and schematic drawings to illustrate system layouts and functionality.
- Revise designs based on engineering feedback and evolving project requirements.
Technical Analysis
- Interpret engineering specifications and calculations to produce accurate draft designs.
- Conduct basic feasibility reviews and ensure designs align with manufacturing capabilities.
- Apply knowledge of materials, machining, and assembly methods to optimize product design.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with engineers to understand design intent and clarify technical requirements.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (e.g., electrical, structural) for integrated system design.
- Provide clear documentation and support to manufacturing and assembly teams.
Quality Control
- Review all drawings for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to specifications.
- Identify and correct drafting errors or inconsistencies.
- Maintain organized file systems and manage version control for all design documents.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- CAD Proficiency: Expertise in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar CAD platforms.
- Mechanical Design Knowledge: Strong grasp of mechanical systems, components, and fluid mechanics.
- Technical Drawing: Skilled in creating detailed, dimensioned technical drawings and layouts.
- Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy in all drafting work.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to evaluate design challenges and recommend effective solutions.
Education & Experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Experience working with mechanical design and CAD software.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is preferred.
