Environmental Operations Operator
Job Description
- Work in the hazardous waste warehouse, receiving and unloading waste, and managing waste feed during incinerator campaigns while adhering to written instructions and/or training.
- Operating Fork trucks and narrow fork trucks with training
- Loading chemicals into drums and barrels and moving those to different areas of the facility
- Loading drums and barrels onto fork trucks and using ratchet straps to secure
- Provide housekeeping support to Environmental Controls, Incineration Services, and related departments.
- Summarize observations and activities both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate basic math skills, perform troubleshooting and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
- Maintain the work area in a state of cleanliness and safety
- Adhere to environmental, health, safety, and security programs, rules, and procedures.
- Work well both independently and in a team environment.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Able to wear required personal protective equipment including supplied-air respirator
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance on a routine basis.
- Able to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, and platforms and work at heights.
- Able to work in a high noise/high-temperature environment, indoors or outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to handle hazardous materials and adhere to safety protocols.
- Willing to work 8-hour or 12-hour shifts, days or nights
