Field Service Engineer (Water Treatment)

Job Description

Sirius Staffing is seeking a Field Service Engineer (FSE) with water treatment experience to support a client serving the Richmond, VA area. This role is responsible for installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and qualification of water purification systems.

Compensation & Reimbursements
  • Rate: $31 - $33/hr BOE 
  • Car allowance up to $50 per day (maximum $2,000 per month)
  • Fuel reimbursement for business-related expenses
  • Internet service reimbursement up to $75 per month
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform installations, repairs, preventative maintenance, and system validations/qualifications
  • Complete PMs in the month due and installations within two weeks of site readiness
  • Respond to customer repair requests within required timeframes (24-hour onsite up to two weeks)
  • Maintain professional conduct and comply with all customer site rules and housekeeping standards
  • Accurately complete work orders and related documentation
  • Close work orders daily
  • Provide customers with documentation, including service reports, meter verification reports, and routine maintenance records
  • Maintain and communicate daily schedules to internal teams and customers
  • Notify the manager when scheduling issues impact customer satisfaction or timelines
  • Maintain consignment inventory per SOP and ensure accuracy
  • Maintain tools and test equipment in proper working order and calibration
  • Generate leads for hardware, consumables, accessories, and service contracts using CRM tools
  • Maintain professional, timely, and effective communication with customers and internal teams
  • Provide emergency response support, including 2-hour callback windows and up to 24-hour onsite response
  • Adhere to NA Fleet Vehicle Policy
  • Assist with custom-engineered system installations with supervisory support
  • Submit expense reports every two weeks
  • Meet customer site requirements, including vendor credentialing, background checks, and immunization requirements as needed
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree
    • Professional or military electronics/mechanical experience may substitute
    • Electronics background preferred
      OR
  • High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of field service experience and/or skilled trade experience
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Water treatment experience required
  • Water filtration experience 
  • Minimum 1 year of field service experience and/or applicable skilled trade experience
  • Proficiency with hand tools, basic power tools, and test equipment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle difficult customers and situations
  • Basic computer skills (computer use, uploading software, iPad/iPhone usage)
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs unassisted and up to 165 lbs with assistance
  • Clean driving record for rental vehicle use
Work Requirements
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours, including overtime
  • Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays as required for clinical customers
  • Overnight travel as required (to provide backup support to neighboring territories as required)
  • Must possess a current passport or be eligible to obtain one
