Field Service Engineer
Job Description
- Install, repair, perform preventative maintenance, and qualify water purification systems.
- Provide professional service on a timely basis, respecting customer on-site rules and regulations including good on-site housekeeping practices.
- Accurately complete Work Orders and related documentation, and close Work Orders daily.
- Provide customers with appropriate documentation of work completed and maintain an accurate daily schedule for internal visibility. Communicate effectively with customers and adapt to repair schedules.
- Maintain physical consignment inventory in accordance with SOP and ensure tools and test equipment are in proper working order and calibration.
- Generate leads for new hardware, consumables, accessories, and service contracts via the current CRM tool.
- Respond to emergencies with a 2-hour callback window and a maximum 24-hour on-site response time.
- Adhere to NA Fleet Vehicle Policy, vendor credentialing, background checks, and immunization requirements.
- Submit expense reports every two weeks.
- Assist with custom engineered system installations with support from the Supervisor, Manager, and/or Custom Systems Team.
- Associate's Degree in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Technical degree. Professional or military electronics/mechanical experience may substitute. Electronics background/experience desired. OR High School diploma or GED with 3+ years of field service experience and/or experience in skilled trade.
- Willingness to travel overnight as required, both domestic and international (10-60%). Must possess or be eligible to obtain a current passport.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Proficient with tools and test equipment, effective written and verbal communication skills, basic IT skills, and ability to handle difficult customers and situations.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance and move up to 165 pounds with assistance.
- Must be ok with driving 5-6 hours, overnight travel 3-4 times a month
- Clean driving record for Company Car.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
