Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking two Food Service Workers for a long-term contract in Chattanooga, TN.
Schedule Options:
- Wednesday – Sunday, 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Rate: $17.80/ hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and identify menu items and assist in menu development.
- Gather food, equipment, and utensils for daily menu preparation.
- Prepare daily menus, including specials, side dishes, and servings.
- Set up and serve meals while monitoring and assisting residents during meal periods.
- Clean and sanitize dining areas, kitchen, and related work areas.
- Wash and maintain dishes, utensils, stoves, floors, coolers, and cooking equipment.
- Receive, inspect, and inventory delivered food supplies; store items appropriately.
- Maintain accurate records of food deliveries, usage, and supply needs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 months of experience in professional food service as a cook, cook's assistant, or a related role.
- Ability to obtain a Food Handler Permit within 3 months of employment and maintain all required state and local certifications
Other Requirements:
- Understanding of Tennessee food service regulations and Hamilton County policies.
- Knowledge of nutrition guidelines, proper cooking, storage, and disposal methods.
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, cleaning, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions for food preparation and presentation.
- Skill in planning and preparing nutritious meals across various food groups.
- Strong sanitation skills for maintaining utensils and food service areas.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
