Maintenance Superintendent – Augusta, GA
Direct Hire | $112,000–$140,000 + 25% Bonus
Relocation Assistance Available
A successful Maintenance Superintendent will have strong organizational and documentation skills, be self-directed, and confident in their decision-making abilities, with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence. A background in the wood products industry is preferred, though candidates with substantial leadership in heavy industrial manufacturing maintenance will also be considered.
What You Will Do
- Lead and drive uptime improvement initiatives by actively implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, conducting root cause analysis, and executing continuous process enhancements to reduce downtime and improve overall plant performance.
- Identify, prioritize, and execute efficiency improvement programs, using data-driven decision-making to realize consistent gains in plant output and reliability, with a commitment to best practices in a wood products or heavy industrial environment.
- Meet production and uptime goals while making safety a top business priority.
- Build and promote a culture of reliability through preventive and predictive maintenance practices, emphasizing continuous improvement and plant ownership.
- Apply advanced maintenance systems, including root cause and gap analysis, to effectively address equipment and process issues.
- Develop, implement, and maintain team schedules as well as detailed maintenance plans that support all elements of plant mechanical and electrical functions.
- Advance and support training for maintenance and operations teams, continuously developing their knowledge and skills to maintain an optimal operational focus.
- Exercise strong leadership skills by fostering team building, motivation, and collaboration with multiple departments and leadership levels.
- Support the General Manager, Production Superintendents, and Supervisors to achieve objectives in safety, quality, production, and cost management.
- Manage and develop relationships with equipment suppliers and contractors to ensure effective plant operation and maintenance.
- Deliver hands-on technical expertise on the mill floor to increase and maintain plant operations.
Qualifications You Will Need
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience supervising maintenance in a heavy manufacturing industrial setting.
- Proven experience in reliability programs, maintaining and improving plant uptime, and implementing efficiency improvement initiatives within a wood products or heavy industrial environment.
- Demonstrated track record of practical strategies that maximize equipment uptime and drive operational efficiency.
- Strong leadership in change management.
- Sound knowledge of Safe Work Procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Strategic thinker and decisive problem-solver using data-based critical thinking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with strong oral and written communication skills.

For Manager/superintendent roles: their package includes:
- Help with selling homes - realtors, real estate firms, etc., and will pay closing costs when the home sells.
- Help finding a new home- will fly the candidate and spouse to the new location for a week, to help find a new home. Will provide realtor, banks, and mortgage companies as well.
- Will provide movers to pack and transport home contents.
- Pay for closing costs on the new home.
- Provide a temporary housing budget, if needed.
- Provide a cash moving bonus, up to $10k, depending on the salary range.
