Job Description

Sirius Staffing is hiring Manufacturing Technicians in Austin, TX. This role will support a flexible manufacturing environment by performing a variety of tasks across multiple work functions.
 
Perform assembly, disassembly, testing, processing, packaging, inspection, labeling, storage, and shipping of chemical materials and hazardous waste. Seeking someone who can demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude.  
 
$23.50/hr 
Day shift, Mon – Fri
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist engineers with mechanical laboratory test setup and data collection.
  • Assemble manifolds, valves, containers, and support instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
  • Enter and maintain lab data using Microsoft Excel.
  • Perform acid washing of Teflon, stainless steel valves, vessels, and glassware.
  • Disassemble, inspect, reassemble, and helium leak check stainless steel vessels and valves.
  • Clean, inspect, and apply PVC coating to quartz and borosilicate glassware.
  • Package chemicals into quartz or stainless-steel vessels.
  • Perform quality inspections and general housekeeping.
  • Work in and maintain cleanroom environments.
  • Operate a forklift and unload trucks.
  • Support chemical consolidation, hazardous waste consolidation, and decontamination activities.
  • Document all stages of customer-returned items and maintain inventory control and cycle counting.
  • Modify and repair Pyrex and quartz glassware as needed.
 
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • General industry experience preferred in a manufacturing environment (education or military experience may substitute).
  • Ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets and technical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform required physical tasks.
  • Ability to wear a full-face air-purifying respirator and other PPE.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
  • Must be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship now or in the future.
 
Physical & Safety Requirements
  • Pre-placement Fit for Duty Evaluation required.
  • Frequently lift/carry 25–35 lbs; occasionally lift/carry 36–50 lbs.
  • Work with solvents; respirator use may be required.
