Quality Control Analyst
Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Quality Control Analyst for a long-term contract in Kankakee, IL.
Pay: $24.44/ hour
Schedule: 12-hour shift assignment. Current shifts are Day Shift (6:00 am – 6:00 pm) and Night Shift (6:00 pm – 6:00 am). Training will begin on 8-hour days, Monday–Friday.
Summary: This position is responsible for performing multi-disciplinary analytical test methods across a variety of product lines to help achieve overall business objectives. The role also maintains Product Stability, Product Retention, and Reverse Osmosis Water Quality Programs in accordance with regulatory guidelines, while supporting Special Projects and Process Engineering analytical requirements to ensure compliance and business development.
Responsibilities:
- Work within a broad range of guidelines, SOPs, and technical methods with moderate supervision.
- Perform analytical testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods while adhering to GLPs, GMPs, and EHS requirements.
- Complete laboratory activities promptly to support manufacturing and product delivery deadlines.
- Interpret analytical data relative to specifications, process controls, and analytical references.
- Investigate aberrant data and initiate out-of-specification (OOS) reports.
- Maintain and control quality records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct laboratory support functions, including supply management to ensure availability.
- Perform laboratory instrument upkeep such as cleaning, calibration, and preventive maintenance.
- Execute advanced instrument troubleshooting activities.
- Participate in audit readiness activities.
- Work on a 12-hour shift cycle, rotating every 2 weeks between day and night shifts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or another related life science discipline; OR Associate degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience in biology, chemistry, or related sciences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of analytical chemistry, microbiology, biology, environmental monitoring, and plant hygiene processes.
- Experience with Minitab and MS Office.
- 1+ years of experience in a cGMP Quality Control Laboratory.
- 1+ years of experience operating laboratory equipment such as HPLC, GC, UV/Vis, TOC, AA, and KF.
