Sirius Staffing is seeking a Maintenance Planner for a direct-hire opportunity in Henderson, TX. This position plays a pivotal role in improving equipment reliability, scheduling maintenance activities, and managing the CMMS to ensure safe, efficient production performance.
Typical Career Path: This role is ideal for skilled trades professionals advancing from a Millwright background into Planning. Candidates must have heavy industrial experience—chemical, refinery, oil and gas, or similar.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and schedule maintenance activities 3–14 days ahead.
- Maintain manpower schedules at 75% utilization or higher.
- Keep 80–90% of the upcoming week’s work ready to schedule; 50% for the following week.
- Coordinate with leadership, vendors, and contractors to ensure all work is executed safely and on time.
- Demonstrate strong abilities in scheduling, planning, buying, and forecasting.
CMMS Management
- Create and maintain job plans detailing safety steps, PPE, required parts, tools, labor, and estimated hours.
- Record maintenance history accurately and update plans based on team feedback.
- Ensure documentation is properly managed within CMMS (no ad-hoc systems).
- Generate and share weekly performance reports and CMMS metrics.
Reliability & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with reliability engineers and traders to review downtime causes and drive Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
- Implement corrective actions to reduce repeat failures and improve asset uptime.
- Keep maintenance standards, tolerances, and PM/PdM routes current and optimized.
Parts & Materials (Kitting)
- Partner with inventory and procurement teams to stage and kit materials in advance.
- Identify non-stock parts and order needed materials for just-in-time job completion.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure the timely delivery of critical spare parts to reduce equipment downtime.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven experience in maintenance planning or project management within a heavy industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and reliability fundamentals.
- Experience using CMMS systems and Oracle.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong understanding of preventive (PM), predictive (PdM), and corrective maintenance (CM) processes.
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Training and Certifications
- Vendor courses in lubrication, hydraulics, PLCs, fasteners, and industrial control systems.
- Noria MLT I or Vibration Analysis Level I (preferred).
