Job Description

Sirius Staffing is seeking an experienced contract Cloud Infrastructure Architect with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure and working knowledge across multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS). This position will play a critical role in supporting a large-scale, vendor-developed project — ensuring proposed cloud solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, security, and performance requirements.
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the architecture and design of cloud infrastructure solutions, primarily in Azure, with consideration for multi-cloud strategies.
  • Evaluate and review vendor-proposed cloud solutions, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, security, and compliance standards.
  • Provide technical oversight and approval for infrastructure components, including:
    • Virtual Machines (VMs)
    • Containerized workloads (Kubernetes, Docker)
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless integration with existing enterprise systems.
  • Define and enforce cloud governance, security best practices, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Support cloud migration initiatives through workload assessment, planning, and execution.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Architect, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Deep expertise in cloud workload design, VM provisioning, container orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and validating vendor solutions.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, identity management, and monitoring in cloud environments.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert or related Azure certifications.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Background in regulated industries such as utilities, healthcare, or finance.
