Job Description

Sirius Staffing is seeking a Research Technician for a long-term contract opportunity to work for a Chemical Research Facility/Manufacturing Plant in Trexlertown, PA. This role supports new product and process development, troubleshooting, optimal sourcing, complaint investigation, and raw material qualification across various business lines within the Specialty Additives Division. 

Pay rate varies based on experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience start at $28/hr
  • For more experienced candidates, the range is $34-43.50/hr BOE
 
Typical schedule: Monday - Friday, 7a-4:30p 

The primary responsibilities involve hands-on laboratory work: conducting experiments, preparing and analyzing chemical samples, coordinating the purchase and shipment of materials and equipment, maintaining lab environment systems, and actively participating in the site safety program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct laboratory synthesis for new product development and cost optimization
  • Perform fundamental reaction experiments, establish operating limits, and participate in safety design reviews.
  • Analysis of laboratory and plant samples using various techniques, including but not limited to chromatography, spectroscopy, rheology, and titrations
  • Need a strong focus and recognition of lab hazards. This area of work includes participation in design hazard reviews.
  • Mechanical construction of laboratory setups and equipment, including working with compression fittings and small gauge tubing
  • Document lab results, perform calculations, and interpret findings accurately.
  • Support plant trials to facilitate technology transfer and enhance production processes.
  • Actively participate in lab safety through inspections, training, job safety analysis, and hazard identification.
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Preferred two (2) or more years of experience in a chemical laboratory or pilot plant environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with lab control systems and analytical instrumentation is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
