Job Description

Sirius Staffing is seeking a Research Technician for a long-term contract opportunity working for a premier chemical research facility in Trexlertown, PA. This role supports product and process development and complaint investigation for the Specialty Additives Division.

We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in a research environment, including experience with synthesis and batch reactors, as well as hands-on expertise in working with compression fittings and troubleshooting and maintaining analytical equipment.

Competitive pay based on experience + Benefits offered | PTO | Holiday
          ° Entry-level candidates (1-2 years): $28/hr
          ° Experienced professionals: $34 - $43.50/hr
Typical schedule: Monday - Friday, 7a-4:30p

The primary responsibilities involve hands-on laboratory work: conducting experiments, preparing and analyzing chemical samples, and maintaining lab environment systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct laboratory synthesis for new product development and cost optimization.
  • Analyze lab and plant samples using techniques like chromatography, spectroscopy, rheology, and titrations.
  • Design and construct laboratory setups, including working with compression fittings and small-gauge tubing.
  • Accurately document results, perform calculations and interpret findings.
  • Support plant trials to facilitate technology transfer and enhance production processes.
  • Actively participate in lab safety through inspections, training, and hazard identification.
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related field
  • One or more years of experience in a chemical laboratory or pilot plant environment.
  • Background in a research environment, including experience with synthesis, batch reactors, and/or fixed reactors.
  • Hands-on experience with compression fittings and the troubleshooting and maintenance of analytical equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with lab control systems and analytical instrumentation is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proactive approach to safety.
