Lab Technician
Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Lab Technician to support biologics manufacturing operations in a dynamic laboratory environment. Ideal for individuals with a background in life sciences and a passion for lab work!
Rate: $20-25/hr BOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacture biological products for daily production needs
- Perform lab operations including antiserum fractionation, dialysis, filtration, labeling, and bottling
- Conduct testing methods such as Heidelberger titers, total protein, OD280, IEP, and SDS-Page
- Follow standard and new SOPs for product manufacturing and testing
- Execute complex laboratory methods under senior guidance
- Perform calculations and collect/evaluate data against specifications
Lab Operations & Compliance
- Safely operate standard lab equipment (pipettes, pH meters, biosafety cabinets, etc.)
- Prepare routine solutions and reagents
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper records using lab software
- Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, OSHA, EPA, and internal quality standards
- Support performance metrics including productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Label, fill, and package finished products
Process Support & Improvement
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and participate in problem-solving activities
- Identify and suggest process improvements for efficiency, yield, and cost savings
- Assist in implementing and updating SOPs for optimization and compliance
Collaboration & Training
- Support R&D and tech transfer teams with new product introduction
- Train on and support the manufacture of new products and technologies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Biotech, Chemistry preferred)
- OR minimum 5 years of relevant lab/manufacturing experience in lieu of a degree
- Hands-on lab experience in sterile techniques, protein purification, and buffer prep
- Proficient with standard lab tools and equipment
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and cell culture practices
- Familiar with antibody/protein production methods
- Able to follow SOPs and complete documentation accurately
- Comfortable with cell-based assays and basic immunological/molecular techniques
- Computer skills, experience with ERP systems (Oracle or SAP preferred) & Microsoft Office
- Strong math, organization, and communication skills
