Lab Technician
Job Description
- Prepare and qualify reagents as required.
- Assist in labeling non-conforming material as needed.
- Communicate test results and pertinent information to appropriate persons.
- Requires the ability to operate on a rotating shift schedule including weekends.
- Ensure samples in the control laboratory are processed fully, accurately, posted, and done so promptly.
- Follow all standard lab procedures and testing methods.
- Assure lab equipment is kept clean and in good working order.
- Comply with ISO 9001 standards, both in the laboratory and in the plant
- Maintain accurate records of all test results and report them promptly in alignment with the quality system.
- Minimum High School Degree with bachelor’s degree preferred in chemistry, biology, or related fields of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment and analytical testing procedures preferred.
- Demonstrated sound decision-making, problem-solving, self-motivation, and ability to react quickly under pressure.
- Good math and analytical skills (ability to perform calculations)
- Computer literacy with MS Office, email, Internet, etc.
