Lab Technician Level III
Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking a safety-focused Research Technician for an onsite opportunity in Carlsbad, CA supporting an advanced experimental products and R&D program. This position works closely with Research & Development, Production, Engineering, and Quality teams within a chemical laboratory environment.
This role is heavily focused on chemical container cleaning, material handling, inventory support, and maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: 7:00 AM / 8:00 AM start time – 4:00 PM / 5:00 PM end time
Pay Rate: $27.00/hour

Responsibilities:
- Empty, inspect, and clean chemical containers, valves, and parts previously used with chemicals
- Support and maintain chemical inventory
- Maintain a clean and organized lab environment utilizing 6S continuous improvement practices
- Assist with equipment maintenance and upkeep
- Follow strict laboratory safety standards and PPE requirements
- Read and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and technical documentation
- Work closely with R&D, Production, Engineering, and Quality teams
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of relevant experience
OR - Associate’s Degree in Chemistry or related field with 1–3 years of experience
OR - Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related science with 1+ year of experience
- Prior container cleaning experience
- Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to wear a full-face respirator and required PPE
- Must be clean shaven for respirator fit requirements
- Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures
- Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior chemistry lab experience handling organic materials, inorganic materials, acids, and bases
- Experience working with gloveboxes, chemical fume hoods, and acid sinks
- SAP experience preferred
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong safety and quality mindset
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
- Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods up to 8 hours
- Raise arms above shoulder level as needed
- Wear full PPE including a full-face air-purifying respirator, chemical-resistant apron, and additional required safety equipment
