Visual Inspection Operator
Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Visual Quality Inspector in Birmingham, AL. This is a full-time position with a well-established pharmaceutical manufacturer. You will be responsible to operate basic equipment effectively, performing routine operational tasks, and supporting overall quality assurance efforts within the facility.
Rate: $25/hr + Benefits PTO & Holiday Pay
Schedule: M - F, 7a – 5p

Please note: Candidates should be open to working day, evening, or rotating shifts, as schedule changes are anticipated in the future.
Responsibilities:
- Perform manual visual inspection of finished products by individually handling each unit and identifying flaws or nonconformities based on established procedures and criteria
- Operate basic manufacturing equipment and execute routine tasks by following strict, detailed instructions
- Conduct operational tasks, including finished product sampling, labeling, and final packaging, within defined process parameters
- Assist with equipment installation, maintenance, and repair by preparing materials and providing support per detailed guidelines
- Maintain quality standards by consistently working within stringent quality requirements
- Follow all mandatory work instructions, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe work environment
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Documented near visual acuity of 20/20 or better (e.g., 20/14) with no color blindness — far visual acuity is not an acceptable substitute
- Physically able to sit or stand for extended periods, maintain focus on detailed tasks, and perform repetitive motions with short breaks
- Able to wear and use PPE appropriate for potential hazards, including respiratory protection when required
- Able to legibly record detailed numerical data and perform basic math (addition and subtraction) with minimal supervision
- Able to identify, assess, and prioritize risks within production processes under supervision
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow strict, detailed instructions consistently
- Able to work independently with guidance and support team goals in a production environment
