Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Laboratory Technician for a 6-month contract position in Chester, Pennsylvania.
Summary:
The Laboratory Technician has the primary responsibility for the sampling, testing, and monitoring the continuous process of manufacturing precipitated silica. The testing, evaluation, and release of the finished product is also included in these responsibilities. Employee is responsible for adhering and practicing the GMP and Food safety procedures and controls implemented within the boundaries of their job function at the Chester site.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all laboratory functions in a safe manner and actively support the safety program.
- Sample and test the continuous production process. Perform any adjustments as necessary to maintain product quality.
- Conduct any additional testing to ensure changeovers in products prevents cross contamination.
- Maintain notebooks and computer files in a neat and organized manner to facilitate data retrieval.
- Maintain the lab equipment and calibrations as required to ensure accurate and consistent results.
- Maintain an open dialog with Production Operators to ensure product quality and provide testing support as required.
- Conduct required testing for Environmental and plant utilities to ensure compliance to permit requirements.
- Adhere to the procedures defined under the ISO-9000 certification.
Requirements:
- A minimum of an Associate degree in a science related field. A Bachelor of Science and study related to the field of chemistry in preferred.
- Basic computer skills in MS Excel, MS Access.
- Experience with SAP would be a plus.
- Basic understanding of statistics is a plus.
- Ability to maintain the accurate and timely updating of the plant analytical data files.
