Laboratory Technician
Job Description
As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory techniques and procedures of medium to moderate complexity. You will handle tasks related to day-to-day laboratory operations and work with limited supervision under a manager or higher-level Scientist.
- Compensation: $25/hr
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
- Contract Duration: At least 1 year, with potential for extension
- Complete lab safety training and follow safety standards.
- Utilize personal protective equipment and maintain laboratory cleanliness.
- Participate in site safety and quality programs.
- Shipping Samples: Prepare and document sample shipments, manage clearance requests, and handle associated paperwork.
- Chemical Inventory: Enter chemical information, generate IDs and labels, and organize storage and disposal of materials.
- Inventory Management: Track lab supplies, and reorder as needed.
- Set up and conduct various lab procedures, tests, and experiments following instructions.
- Collect and analyze samples from in-process or finished products.
- Record data, identify unique situations, and make preliminary conclusions for further verification.
- Draft reports on project backgrounds and test results, including graphs and data trends.
- Support the drafting of ISO and safety methods under supervision.
- Participate in technique development for experiments and processes.
- Upperclassman or graduate with a BS/BA in science, preferably in chemistry or a related field, and 0-1 year of related experience.
- Well-developed lab techniques, including data observation, preliminary conclusions, and report writing with basic graphics programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Chemistry or chemical engineering background preferred.
- Coatings experience is desirable.
