Machine Operator-Day shift
Job Description
- Operate and oversee automated packaging equipment, including drum massagers, delumpers, filling machines, cappers, and labelers.
- Utilize forklifts for material handling and transport as needed.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) to ensure products meet quality standards.
- Perform visual inspections and quality checks throughout the packaging process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, reporting any safety hazards to management.
- Training and Support:
- Provide training and technical support to team members to enhance departmental performance.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and work with the team to implement solutions.
- Process Improvement:
- Participate in process improvement projects, testing new methods to enhance efficiency, customer service, and compliance.
- Lead test cycles and provide feedback to refine current practices.
- Communication and Teamwork:
- Communicate effectively with staff and supervisors regarding potential concerns and operational updates.
- Work collaboratively in a team setting to meet production goals and maintain a high-quality work environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Coursework in chemistry or 6 months of related work experience is preferred
- 2-4 years of packaging or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Forklift experience is required.
- Knowledge of product flow in packaging processes.
- Ability to operate powered industrial equipment and perform hand-weighing operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
- Strong ability to operate and troubleshoot packaging machinery.
- Knowledge of GMP and safety protocols.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks.
