Manufacturing Process Engineer
Location: Sumter, SC (Onsite)
Salary: $85,000–$90,000 + Additional Sign-On Bonus

About the Role
We're looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support production lines that utilize mechanically and PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll spend most of your time on the production floor working with operators, maintenance, and other engineers to solve problems, improve equipment performance, and support continuous improvement efforts.

What You'll Do
- Support daily manufacturing operations by troubleshooting equipment and production issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
- Manage multiple Engineering & Process Improvement projects while successfully meeting Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives
- Design and implement equipment, tooling, and fixture improvements.
- Work closely with maintenance and production teams to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Assist with installation, startup, and debugging of new equipment and capital projects.
- Focus on areas of capacity expansion through existing process optimization, quality/waste improvement, and cost improvement activities.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors and outside contractors when needed.
- Attain budgeted cost reductions and efficiency gains.
- Develop and update engineering documentation, including work instructions, preventive maintenance procedures, bills of material, and engineering changes.
- Support equipment validation activities and process improvements.
- Recommend cost-saving ideas and manufacturing improvements.
- Accountable for spending within approved limits on programs within the department.
- Help train operators and maintenance personnel on new equipment or process changes.
- Manage multiple improvement projects while supporting daily production needs.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred - Equivalent manufacturing engineering experience may be considered in place of a degree.
- 2+ years of manufacturing engineering or process engineering experience.
- Experience supporting plant manufacturing efforts, with proven ability to identify problems and pursue plans toward their resolution in a Fast-Paced environment.
- Mechanical troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with automated manufacturing equipment is preferred.
- Ability to interpret & use production data to identify and solve manufacturing problems.
- Experience designing tooling, fixtures, or machine modifications.
- REQUIRED: CAD experience such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar software
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, quality, and engineering.
Nice to Have
- Experience with pneumatic systems, servo-driven equipment, PLC-controlled machinery, or automated production lines.
- Experience leading equipment improvement or continuous improvement projects.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
