Job Description

Sirius Staffing is seeking Manufacturing Technicians in the Austin, TX area. This is a hands-on, fast-paced opportunity for individuals looking to grow with a thriving company in a long-term career role. On-the-job training is provided to quickly build key technical skills, with potential for permanent placement based on performance and business needs.

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Thursday – Saturday, and every other Wednesday. 
Pay Rate: $21.68/hr

Technicians will work on systems and maintain a supply of chemicals and gases to a semiconductor manufacturing environment that makes the chips used in electronic devices such as smartphones, LEDs, and flat-screen TVs.

Responsibilities: 
  • Technicians will be responsible for the safe operation of assigned chemical and/or gas distribution systems
  • Handling and change-out of gas, chemical, and slurry containers
  • Chemical and Gas equipment troubleshooting and preventative/repair maintenance
  • Computer operations to support job functions and customer needs
  • Support of quality systems
 
Physical Attributes:
  • No facial hair; must be clean-shaven. In some cases, Technicians wear a respirator while working with chemicals (approx. 10-15 minutes)
  • Walking up to 5 or 6 miles per day
  • Occasionally may need to climb a tanker truck (18-wheeler), while using fall protection, to off-load chemicals into a drum.
  • Basic lifting (up to 40lbs)
  • Bending of the knees and overhead reaching
  • PPE will be available to workers, including safety glasses, hard hats, earplugs, chemical aprons, gloves, etc.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills; must speak and read English
  • Prior experience in maintenance or as an equipment technician, or in a mechanical/electronic environment, is a plus.
  • Previous experience with chemical and gas distribution equipment is helpful, but not a must.
 
Military training is welcome; Veterans from any branch or MOS with hands-on mechanical skill sets are encouraged to apply.
