Material Handler
Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join a fast-paced warehouse and distribution team in Whitsett, NC .
Summary: This position is responsible for receiving, verifying, storing, picking, packaging, and shipping materials while ensuring inventory accuracy and maintaining a safe, organized work environment.
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming materials and verify quantities against packing lists, bills of lading, purchase orders, and shipping documentation.
- Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and report any shortages, damages, or discrepancies to the Receiving Technician.
- Receive inventory into the warehouse management system and accurately document all transactions.
- Verify returned materials against return authorizations and document discrepancies.
- Pick materials using pick lists, barcode scanners, or handheld devices to fulfill production and customer orders.
- Load products into cartons, containers, or pallets according to order requirements while ensuring accuracy.
- Package materials according to established packaging standards and company procedures.
- Apply shipping labels, packing slips, and required documentation to outgoing shipments.
- Process shipment transactions while verifying order accuracy, counts, and packaging integrity.
- Prepare shipping documents and coordinate with carriers to ensure accurate loading and shipment.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by following proper material handling and documentation procedures.
- Operate barcode scanners, handheld computers, and warehouse management systems to complete inventory transactions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety policies.
- Perform additional warehouse and material handling duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, logistics, or material handling experience.
- Ability to accurately count, verify, and document inventory.
- Experience using barcode scanners, handheld devices, or warehouse management systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
