Material Planner

Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Material Planner for a leading global manufacturing organization in Sheboygan Falls, WI to work a 1 year contract. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating material supply, inventory, production, and container fleet availability to ensure customer demand is met while maintaining supply chain efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong SAP planning experience, advanced Excel skills, and a background in production, inventory, purchasing, or supply chain planning.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage SAP transactions including process orders, purchase orders, and stock transfer orders
- Monitor inventory levels and material flow to ensure uninterrupted supply to internal and external customers
- Develop production and purchasing plans based on customer demand and inventory requirements
- Establish monthly production targets and support long-range planning activities
- Track and manage supply chain KPIs related to inventory, customer service, and supply reliability
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Transportation, Customer Service, and Procurement teams
- Support monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) activities and reporting
- Present supply constraints, risks, and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders
Additional Planning Responsibilities
- Manage customer order planning and material replenishment activities
- Coordinate cylinder and container fleet planning to support customer demand
- Review container utilization and cycle times throughout the supply chain
- Utilize planning and analytics tools to evaluate fleet requirements and optimize inventory positioning
- Support annual capital expenditure planning activities
- Maintain planning databases, ERP records, and work-in-process reporting
- Coordinate procurement activities to ensure material availability
- Assist in documenting and improving planning processes and procedures
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of planning, production, inventory, purchasing, or supply chain experience; OR
- Associate degree and 5+ years of relevant supply chain experience
- 3+ years of SAP ERP/APO experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, IF statements, and data analysis
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
- APICS/ASCM Certification
- Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives or supply chain projects
- Experience creating and maintaining databases
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
