Job Title: Chemical Packaging Operator
Location: Urbana, IL
Pay Rate: $25/hour
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Interviews: Held onsite

About the Role:
We’re looking for a safety-minded, detail-oriented Chemical Packaging Operator to join our team for a 12-month contract (with potential to go permanent). You’ll be responsible for accurately packaging chemical products, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and preparing them for shipment.

What You’ll Do:
- Receive materials approved for packaging
- Prepare and fill containers according to specifications
- Accurately label packaged products and hand off to the shipping team
- Enter data and complete paperwork to support packaging and ERP systems
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Help maintain packaging Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Support the shipping department with tasks as needed
What We’re Looking For:
Required:
- Associate’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or related field
OR - Some college-level science courses plus 2+ years of chemical handling experience (packaging, manufacturing, etc.)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to follow written instructions and complete paperwork accurately
- Physically able to bend, twist, and stand for extended periods
Preferred:
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems
- Experience using SAPNext or other ERP systems
