Job Description

Sirius Staffing immediately seeks a Packaging Operator for a position in Martin, South Carolina. The ideal candidate would have 1-2 years of chemical manufacturing experience and experience operating a forklift.
This position is a contract opportunity with the potential to convert to a perm position. 
 
$21/hr 

12-hour rotating schedule: 2 on, 3 off, 3 on, 2 off rotating from days to nights every 2 weeks 
 
The Packaging Operator will support the manufacturing of products according to established protocols and perform operations in support of the group, department, and company. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Transport chemicals and equipment using tools such as pumps/piping, fork trucks, pallet jacks, or dollies.
  • Perform production and packaging operations according to established procedures.
  • Ensure the quality and quantity of products throughout the production process.
  • Clean up equipment and work areas after production operations.
  • Coordinate proper disposal of waste and complete necessary compliance documentation.
  • Communicate and document the status of processes, products, and equipment.
  • Report any deviations in production operations or equipment to the supervisor.
  • Provide accurate batch records at the end of production operations.
  • Ensure all relevant logbooks are completed accurately.
  • Conduct operations in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to production procedures and safety policies at all times.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for the production processes, including full-face respirators, gloves, and suits.
  • Use, clean, and store all personal protective gear properly.
  • Properly label all in-process equipment and containers.
  • Take necessary action to address any unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laboratory and work areas.

Requirements:
  • An Associate's degree in a life science-related field with 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar environment, or
  • A High School diploma with 2+years of relevant experience in a similar environment.
  • Forklift experience required

  • Proficient in safe chemical handling methods
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities
  • Strong organizational skills
