Packaging Operator
Job Description
Sirius Staffing is a Chemical Production Operator for a long-term contract in Martin, SC. The Operator will support manufacturing with operating packaging machinery, monitoring product quality, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Rate: $20/hr
Schedule: M-F, 6:30a-3:00p (with occasional overtime)
Responsibilities:
- Perform production operations, including packaging, per current production processes and procedures.
- Ensure the quality and quantity of the product throughout the production process.
- Follow production procedures and safety policies at all times.
- Perform operations in compliance with rules and in a safe, orderly manner.
- Provide a complete and accurate batch record at the conclusion of production operations consistent with quality guidelines.
- Ensure all applicable logbooks are filled out completely as required by current procedures.
- Communicate and document the status of processes, products, and equipment.
- Report deviations in production operations/equipment to the supervisor.
- Label all in-process equipment and containers properly.
- Transport chemicals and equipment to and from processes, including the use of pumps/piping, forklifts, pallet jacks, or dollies.
- Clean up equipment and working areas after production operations.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the laboratory and working areas.
- Coordinate appropriate disposal of waste and complete compliance documentation.
- Wear appropriate PPE for production processes, which may include full-face respirators, gloves, and suits.
- Use, clean, and store all personal protective gear appropriately.
- Take necessary action to resolve any unsafe conditions.
- Participate in required safety and quality training and other related activities.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED, and 1-3 years of experience working in manufacturing or a related field.
- Or AA in life sciences with 1-2 years of chemical manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Forklift experience required.
