Job Overview:
Sirius Staffing is currently seeking dependable and safety-focused candidates for a Packer position at a chemical manufacturing facility in Etowah, TN. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in a long-term, contract-based role with growth potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate or learn to operate equipment in a safe, efficient manner within an assigned area of the plant
- Maintain high-quality output in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Optimize productivity through effective time management
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth shift transitions
- Support TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) efforts in all work areas
- Maintain cleanliness and perform light maintenance within assigned zones
- Work overtime as needed to meet production and customer demands
- Participate in routine training for EHS, Quality, and SOP updates
- Maintain reliable attendance in accordance with company policy
- Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a positive attitude
- Follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and uphold quality standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset
- Demonstrates integrity and a willingness to learn
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- Work environment includes exposure to noise, odors, dust, drafts, chemicals, machinery, temperature variations, and potentially hazardous substances
- May require sitting (25%), standing (60%), and walking (15%) during shift
- Frequent lifting of up to 20 lbs., occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs. (mechanical aids should be used when available)
- Primarily indoors in a production environment, with occasional outdoor exposure
- Overtime may be required
