Part time Financial Analyst
Job Description
Sirius Staffing is hiring a Finance Analyst for a part-time assignment in Tampa, FL. In this role, you will work approximately 24 hours a week to support financial planning, accounting, analysis, and regulatory activities for a large energy company.
Employment schedule: On-site 3–4-days a week; scheduling may vary based on business needs
Key Responsibilities
- Support business units in the preparation, review, and monitoring of operating budgets and forecasts.
- Perform monthly variance analysis and assist management in identifying key drivers of financial performance.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including preparation of journal entries, account analysis, and related supporting documentation.
- Develop reports, presentations, and ad hoc analyses to support decision-making.
- Support regulatory and rate case activities, including research, data gathering, and responses to interrogatories.
- Assist with rate case preparation, including financial analysis, supporting documentation, witness testimony development, and preparation of testimony materials.
- Conduct research and analysis to support regulatory filings and other strategic Finance initiatives.
- Document processes, maintain supporting workpapers, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Collaborate with Finance and business unit leaders to provide financial insights and recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Five years of experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, variance analysis, and accounting close processes.
- Experience preparing journal entries and supporting financial reporting activities.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Experience supporting regulatory filings, rate cases, or utility industry operations preferred.
- Must be eligible to work for any U.S. employer without sponsorship now or in the future.
