Patient Services Aide
Job Description
- Interacting with patients
- Assisting with preparing meals for clients
- Monitoring guests
- Light housekeeping
- Efficiently pull and file records for clinical staff, creating and organizing charts for clients receiving services.
- Records laboratory results in chart and laboratory log-in sheets
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments and maintains autoclaves
- Prepare nurse practitioner rooms, ensuring they're equipped and organized for appointments.
- Makes reminder calls to clients for missed appointments and mails out reminder cards
- Answer calls, take messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff. Prepare informational packets for designated programs as directed.
- Perform any related tasks or responsibilities to maintain the office's efficiency.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1 year of office clerical experience required
- Familiarity with general office protocols, practices, and confidentiality laws related to medical records.
- Ability to handle customer interactions professionally and effectively.
- Ability to manage medical records accurately and promptly.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA policies.
- Basic knowledge of infection control practices (e.g., handwashing, respiratory etiquette, etc.).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer use
- Ability to learn from on-the-job experience.
